Older Adult Research Workshops

Are you interested in how older people contribute to research? Want to share your thoughts and help shape the future of involvement?

We are inviting people over 50 to take part in two workshops exploring how older people contribute to and participate in research. This is an opportunity to discuss the topics that interest you, how you might like to get involved, and what support would be helpful.

The research workshops are divided into two stages. Participants will be expected to attend both.

Workshop 1: The first will involve learning about research, discussing topics that matter to you, and exploring ways to get involved. We have three venue options for you to choose from:

  • 4 March (New Wortley Community Centre) 11 am – 12.30 pm
  • 5 March (Old Fire Station, Gipton) 11 am – 12.30 pm
  • 7 March (Online) 11 am – 12.30 pm

Workshop 2: We will then invite you to the second stage workshop. The date for this will be set with you in Workshop 1. This session will involve helping to shape how older people engage in research.

We’re offering participants a £25 shopping voucher, travel cost reimbursement, and a light lunch for in-person events!

Spaces are limited, with only eight places per workshop available, so we ask that anyone looking to join is happy to attend the follow-up session.
