Here is a brief selection of our recent work, and what we expect to be doing next month.
In June among other activities, we have…
- launched our Manifesto for Change to influence policy-makers and politicians
- worked with AgeUK Leeds to distribute and use our Manifesto, alongside Age UK’s Blueprint for improving the lives of older people
- celebrated our Digital Inclusion Co-ordinator, Sam, winning the Multiply, Tutor Award, in Leeds Adult Learning Celebration Awards
- marked Volunteers’ Week, Loneliness Awareness Week and Small Charity Week
- welcomed a mention for Men’s Health Unlocked, in an official letter of recommendations from the Parliamentary Health & Social Care Committee’s inquiry into Men’s Health
- welcomed new staff in the Travel Connections partnership and delivered Travel Buddy induction training for new volunteers
- delivered UKSPF finance sessions to 25 learners
- Took part in digital research project – Include – looking at creating a tool to identify those digitally excluded.
- invited applications for Creative Healthy Ageing grants
In July 2024, we expect to…
- share Sarah Frost’s evaluation report of the Driving Change Together programme
- share a toolkit outlining what we’ve learned when setting up Mature Driving Appraisals in Leeds
- start two new Men’s Health Unlocked Link Workers!
- work with Forum Central to distribute Household Support Fund grants to community organisations
- announce new Hey Neighbour grant recipients
- see our first participants in the Travel with Confidence project
- launch the Driving Change Together toolkit and hold an online event sharing the learning,
- meet with Charities interested in starting new Digital Classes under the new USKP funding
- jointly run the Digital Network meeting on 25 July at Virgin Money, to launch the BOSS resources
