Here is a brief selection of our recent work, and what we expect to be doing next month.

In June among other activities, we have…

  • launched our Manifesto for Change to influence policy-makers and politicians
  • worked with AgeUK Leeds to distribute and use our Manifesto, alongside Age UK’s Blueprint for improving the lives of older people
  • celebrated our Digital Inclusion Co-ordinator, Sam, winning the Multiply, Tutor Award, in Leeds Adult Learning Celebration Awards
  • marked Volunteers’ Week, Loneliness Awareness Week and Small Charity Week
  • welcomed a mention for Men’s Health Unlocked, in an official letter of recommendations from the Parliamentary Health & Social Care Committee’s inquiry into Men’s Health
  • welcomed new staff in the Travel Connections partnership and delivered Travel Buddy induction training for new volunteers
  • delivered UKSPF finance sessions to 25 learners
  • Took part in digital research project – Include – looking at creating a tool to identify those digitally excluded.
  • invited applications for Creative Healthy Ageing grants

In July 2024, we expect to…

  • share Sarah Frost’s evaluation report of the Driving Change Together programme
  • share a toolkit outlining what we’ve learned when setting up Mature Driving Appraisals in Leeds
  • start two new Men’s Health Unlocked Link Workers!
  • work with Forum Central to distribute Household Support Fund grants to community organisations
  • announce new Hey Neighbour grant recipients
  • see our first participants in the Travel with Confidence project
  • launch the Driving Change Together toolkit and hold an online event sharing the learning,
  • meet with Charities interested in starting new Digital Classes under the new USKP funding
  • jointly run the Digital Network meeting on 25 July at Virgin Money, to launch the BOSS resources
