In October, among other activities, we have…
- run the last in a series of workshops about outreach to the most lonely, and published a blog about using the ‘L’ word
- been invited to share Time to Shine’s insights in engaging older LGBT+ people at a Campaign to End Loneliness hub workshop
- run a taster workshop for Leeds City Council’s Adults & Health directorate
- run the first Enhance cross-sector learning events, where delivery partners and Neighbourhood Teams can share what they are learning
- been planning the next Shine magazine.
- taken part in a Forum Central away day for all staff and trustees
- held a cross-sector learning event for all Enhance partners
- delivered a Dementia Friends session for staff at RJ West Yorkshire
- collected monitoring data from 11 Travel Connections delivery partners and sent to the Department for Transport
- organised a bike maintenance workshop for people aged 50+ hosted by Leeds Bike Mill
- collected monitoring data from 14 Enhance delivery partners to increase understanding of the challenges faced by participants, and of the practical and emotional support provided by delivery partners
- published an Enhance learning briefing: stories from the frontline
- entered data from Enhance questionnaires for our evaluation partner to analyse and share the results in an interim report
- held a Cycling with Confidence event at Meanwood Urban Valley Farm for a group of older adults from Bramley Elderly Action where participants got to ride a variety of bicycles including trikes and recumbent bikes
- attended a Grand Days Out session to Cross Gates, in partnership with Shine Magazine, which will be featured in the magazine
- hosted two ‘spotlight sessions’ for Forum Central on Friendly Communities, and a deep dive into Wise Up to Ageism
In November 2022, we expect to…
- run a workshop on what Time to Shine did to tackle loneliness and social isolation for Leeds University sociology and social policy students and staff
- run an Enhance peer learning session, open to all older people’s organisations, to find out about Public Health’s Winter campaign
- start planning an Enhance conference
- attend Purple Tuesday at Trinity Leeds to talk about Dementia Friendly Leeds
- hold contract meetings with all Enhance and Travel Connections delivery partners
- hold a Let’s Talk Transport event where members from six Neighbourhood Networks will take a trip to the White Rose Centre on one of First Bus‘s new electric buses
- celebrate International Men’s Day with an event on 19 November
- host an Age Friendly Ambassador networking event at Leeds City Museum
