Age Proud Festival – choose from more than 100 community events!

Well it’s been busy, busy, busy here at Age Proud Festival headquarters, and with start of the Festival just a few days away we are delighted to tell you that we have had such amazing support from our partners that we now have over 100 community events lined up across the city! This is in addition to a full opening day programme of events at Leeds Playhouse and three full days of events and performance at Leeds City Museum, Millennium Square.

The range of events is wide and varied, so I feel sure that there is something for everyone to enjoy. And of course, many events are virtual, so you can take part from the comfort and safety of your own sofa, particularly good if you are feeling anxious about being out and about. But if you would like to join in with any of the live events, be assured that we are following Covid protocols and keeping your health and safety our primary concern.

See the full list of events at Age Proud Festival Leeds.

For those that like to keep fit we have yoga, tai chi, swimming, walking football, chair exercise and lots of chances to join in walking events in the parks or by the canal.

We have lots of entertainment too! Performances by Yorkshire Dance, The Performance Ensemble, Collingham Band and Leeds People’s Choir, amongst many others.

And if you fancy trying something new – why not have a go at playing the ukulele, or drumming, or how about line dancing? Or if you would just like to give your brain a workout join an online quiz and pit your wits against the rest.

Leeds City Libraries are hosting a fantastic range of activities including batik, ancestry, drop-in and draw and Digital 12’s to help you sort out your tech and you could also join a Central Library Heritage Tour – take a guided tour of the Grade II* listed Victorian masterpiece in the historic heart of Leeds. From antique Potts clocks to grinning stone guard dogs, explore the secrets behind the scenes of one of the city’s most amazing public buildings.

Information on all the events is listed on the Festival website. We’re updating it every day with additional events, so make sure to keep checking to see what you can get involved in.

It’s time to feel good about ageing – so be there and be involved!
