Here is a brief selection of our recent work, and what we expect to be doing next month …
July 2021
We continue to work remotely, while supporting frontline practitioners in their Covid response and the preparation for the lifting of lockdown.
Among other activities, we have:
- delivered the July issue of Shine magazine
- launched, in partnership with Leeds Community Foundation, a new micro fund Connecting LGBT+ people
- recruited Lesley Wilcock, to co-ordinate Leeds Age Proud Festival, 6-17 September
- ran the first two sessions in a seven month programme to share our learning
- launched grants for local International Day of Older People activities, on the theme Linking Lives: a time to reconnect and celebrate the strength of diverse communities
August 2021
Among other activities during this month, we expect to:
- publish a detailed programme of events for Leeds Age Proud Festival
- host the third monthly Covid briefing in partnership with Leeds City Council Public Health
- Welcome our new Communities Officer, Elizabeth, to the team
- The Promise of a Garden opens at Leeds Playhouse – partnership between LOPF, The Performance Ensemble, Leeds Playhouse and Leeds 2023
- publish two learning reports – ‘Sowing the seeds: reflections on running a Small Funds programme’ and ‘Greater than the sum of its parts: creating a cohesive programme’
