Here is a brief summary of our recent work, and what we expect to be doing next month.
September 2020
Our staff team are still mainly working from home, though we do now have access to the office should we need it. In light of the new Leeds restrictions, we expect to be working from home for the foreseeable future.
We have:
- continued to gather stories and examples of kindness for the ‘Time to Shine a Light on Loneliness’ campaign
- helped to allocate RU OK? volunteers to organisations around the city
- developed work with Let’s Dance agency to create our legacy website
- continued to publish briefings on learning from Covid-19 and make reports from other Ageing Better areas available
- produced a range of blogs and materials related to Older, Different, Equal – Age Proud Leeds key message 4.
- submitted a funding bid for the sustainability of Shine magazine
- applied for funding for an intergenerational project
- submitted a proposal to the National Lottery Community Fund, in the hope that Time to Shine can be extended for a further year
- published a large range of blogs
October 2020
Among other activities during this month, we expect to:
- launch Time to feel good about ageing (key message 5 of Age Proud Leeds)
- hear a decision from the Lottery about extending the funding by a year
- publish a final report from the Bee Together project
- publish reports work with ‘younger older people’, and on the role of digital technology for older people
- maintain contact and connection with all our delivery partners
- run Time to Learn sessions on working with volunteers, and on how organisations may be able to support people over Christmas.
