Over the past year we have been holding networking meetings for Time to Shine delivery partners of all sizes. We have now decided to extend these meetings to any organisation that works with older people in Leeds.
The meetings usually have a theme…and biscuits.
We will kick off in December, with a focus on Mental Health. This follows on from discussions we have been having about the prevalence of anxiety in some socially isolated older people, which led to questions about IAPT (Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies). The meeting will include:
- Amy Darcy of Community Links will tell us how the newly titled Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service works for older people.
- I will be sharing the final draft of the Time to Shine Anxiety toolkit, which we have producedr following comments from delivery partners.
- We will also have information available from Leeds Recovery College.
Anyone with an interest in the subject, who would like to share ways of working or ask how others tackle things, would be very welcome to join us. Meetings are fairly informal, with guest speakers, followed by quick updates from those around the room, then a focused discussion on the topic. There is usually plenty of opportunity to network as well.
The event is free and will be at Heart in Headingley
