FREE WORKSHOP: Time to Shine Learning Disability Community Development Workshop

FREE workshop
Tuesday, 12 July 2016 from 10:30 to 13:30
The Vinery Centre – 20 Vinery Terrace, Leeds, LS9 9LU

Time to Shine is a six year programme funded by the Big Lottery. Our aim is to tackle social isolation in older people, aged 50 years and over in Leeds.

We are currently looking for a delivery partner for the Learning Disability Community Development Project.

The project will run for a period of three years and is expected to develop in two distinct stages:

The first stage is to identify learning disabled seniors that are socially isolated and to develop ways to identify those not known to services to have a clearer picture of their needs and ambitions in developing their social networks and relationships.

The second stage will build on the knowledge gained in the first stage to explore, with the identified participants their views about social contacts, meaningful relationships and their wishes for more/different/improved social opportunities.

We would welcome applications from partnerships to deliver the project as different skills and experiences may be required to deliver both stages of the project.

To help with the development of partnerships Time to Shine is running this workshop for potential applicants.

The workshop will cover some possible models for working collaboratively and some areas to consider when working in partnership to deliver the project. The will also be time for partners to meet and network.

Places are limited to two people per organisation to allow for a good mix of potential partners.
