Holbeck Gala threw every weather possible at us but we persevered. The Gala is a credit to the volunteers and local community members who work tirelessly to put it together. It’s a great day out.
We debuted our new gazebo — and boy were we glad we had it. With torrential rain and gale force winds we weren’t sure if anybody would come see us. Then the sun came out and so did the people of Holbeck.
Soon we were packed with people wanting tattoos, doing our crafts or just chatting to us about Time to Shine. We had lots of interest in what we do and lots of people who wanted to get involved.
Our fantastic helper today was Laura Cope, who jumped in feet first and got stuck into tattooing and persuading people to pose for our photos.
Holbeck offered it all: a live band, a giant deckchair, Morley’s most exotic animals, and Time to Shine. Another great day out in Leeds spreading the word about loneliness and what can be done to help.
